52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as a Senior Safety & Health Inspector, Grade 18. If 3 or fewer qualified Department of Labor Senior Safety & Health Inspector, Grade 18, respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified Senior Safety & Health Inspector, Grade 18. without further examination.

Duties Description Standard Duties:
As an Associate Safety and Health Inspector in the Division of Safety & Health the incumbent will Support and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Program which includes planning and scheduling district office activities. Supervise, train and develop subordinate staff. Review the work and maintain surveillance over the operation of the district office. Provide training and education to employers. Act as a safety and health resource for the Program and conduct complex inspections or consultations.

Additional Comments Candidates that will be new to the Division of Safety and Health who will be a trainee and/ or will have a probationary period will be required to work in the office for one year. Once this timeframe has been successfully completed, telecommuting options will be discussed.

Additional location pay is available for the following counties: Bronx, Kings, Nassau, NYC-Manhattan, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, and Putnam.
