Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current NYS employee with one year of contingent-permanent or permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding, Grade 09;
OR

• Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to an Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within two salary grades of grade 9).

Candidates may be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates your ability to enter text using an alpha numeric computer keyboard, at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.

This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. For a 55 b/c appointment, you must:
• Possess the minimum qualifications for this title as established by the Department of Civil Service and listed on the most recent exam announcement.
• Meet the applicable minimal mental and/or physical requirements for the job (with a reasonable accommodation, if necessary)
• Have a current Eligibility Letter from the NYS Department of Civil Service, www.cs.ny.gov/rp55/, and be able to provide it to the Human Resources Office upon request.

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. Qualifying titles are available at: Department of Civil Service (ny.gov).
**If appointed on provisional status, you must participate in the next Civil Service examination(s) and be a reachable candidate to obtain permanent status and maintain your position.

Duties Description Position Description:

• The incumbent of this position serves as support for the medical staff and clinical operations in Corinth.
• Maintenance of medical records, both in the file room, in the clinic and the EHR. This includes filing information, recovering information for staff and obtaining related information from outside providers
• Entering data into the EHR, uploading documents
• Answering phones, faxing, scheduling appointments
• Typing medical information (APE, etc.)
• Ordering office supplies
• Assisting or covering for other administrative support services
• Assisting with billing and record keeping for the master’s levels new billing system
• Assisting with other special projects as needed.
