Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this position. However, prior to being considered for appointment, you will be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates your ability to enter text at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.

Applicant must be versed in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point.

Duties Description 1) Work independently to scan and electronically file new and archived materials in the Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) Syracuse Office. Must be able to accurately upload electronic documents to the Division of Water (DOW) Central Electronic Document Repository (CEDR) using the correct naming convention in the Division’s Internal Guidance Procedure (IGP-1).
2) Provide support to staff with keyboarding and administrative tasks, including (but not be limited to) proofreading and final formatting of letters; handling purchase requisitions, purchase orders, reconciliations and invoicing; submitting expense reports; tracking office supplies; scheduling meetings and calls; responding to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests; updating DOW tracking systems; development of spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and other documents; answering phones; processing and distributing mail; and assisting the public and other various administrative duties as needed.

Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 3/31/24. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
