Associate degree and four years of experience working in a professional office environment OR

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six years of experience working in a professional office environment.

Duties Description Job Duties

The duties of the Human Resources Associate-Recruitment include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Create and post job requisitions in applicant portal, including canvassing Civil Service lists.
Review and qualify applicants ensuring they meet the minimum qualifications.
Facilitate meetings with search committees providing them with instruction on their responsibilities throughout the recruitment process.
Communicate and provide support and guidance to search committees throughout the recruitment process.
Schedule video, virtual and in-person interviews with applicants.
Answer questions and request information from applicants.
Review interview materials provided by search committees to ensure all guidelines are being followed.
Submit and review background checks.
Compose written correspondence such as conditional and formal offer letters.
Complete all phases of onboarding new hires.
Facilitate the orientation of new hires.
Provide clear communication to various departments involved in the recruitment and hiring process.

Minimal travel to attend job fairs is required.

Additional Comments Position Summary

The Human Resources Associate - Recruitment will be assigned to the recruitment unit in the Human Resources department. The incumbent in this position is required to have a good understanding of the objectives of the human resources functions. They will participate in all phases of the recruitment process ensuring that the most qualified applicants are selected. The Human Resources Associate will interact with candidates, internal staff, and external constituents so it is essential that they are able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing. They must have excellent interpersonal skills which includes a friendly and helpful disposition. Finally, the Human Resources Associate must be able to multi-task, be extremely organized and manage competing priorities. This position works under the direction of a Human Resources Associate 2 or Senior Human Resources Associate.
