Minimum Qualifications 70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 12 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service.

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Based on the results of the canvass of the current eligible list for the Business Document Specialist 3 the Department may elect to make a provisional appointment to this position rather than a permanent appointment. If a provisional appointment is made, the appointed candidate will be required to compete in the next holding of the Business Document Specialist 3 exam and be reachable for appointment from the newly established eligible list.

The minimum qualifications for Provisional appointment are:

One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service as a as a Business Document Specialist 2.

55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS:
Individuals certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

You must meet the open competitive qualifications from the most recent examination announcement. The open competitive minimum qualifications are: One year of service as a Business Document Specialist 2.

It is essential that candidates clearly and concisely indicate exactly how they meet the above minimum qualifications in their resume. Failure to show how you meet the minimum qualifications above may result in disqualification and removal from consideration.

Duties Description DUTIES:
The Business Document Specialist 3 duties in Corporations, State Records, & Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) will include but are not limited to the following:
• Supervise and provide guidance, training, and assistance to the Business Document Specialist 1.
• Supervise the functions performed by the assigned units.
• Provide clear directions and give accurate and up to date information.
• Complete evaluation reports accurately and timely.
• Verify staff timesheets daily.
• Identify employee’s needs and provide necessary training.
• Handle complicated or sensitive unit inquiries on behalf of Department of State and Corporations management.
• Communicate with dissatisfied customers or those with unit related business outside normal circumstances.
• Answers phone calls in an effort to keep the queue down as well as the wait time for customers.
