Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A doctoral degree in a clinical field of psychology (see notes below).

AND

Either one-year, full-time pre-doctoral clinical internship
OR
One year of psychology experience in a clinical setting, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. You must demonstrate on your application how you meet this qualification.

You must indicate the conferral date of the qualifying doctoral degree and clearly state the dates of the one-year, full-time pre-doctoral clinical internship on the NYS-APP application form or the online application.

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR candidates must have one year of permanent service as an Associate Psychologist and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law (must also be within 2 salary grades). In addition, candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State.

This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. For a 55 b/c appointment, you must:

• Possess the minimum qualifications for this title as established by the Department of Civil Service and listed on the most recent exam announcement.
• Meet the applicable minimal mental and/or physical requirements for the job (with a reasonable accommodation, if necessary)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Licensed Psychologist, this Associate Psychologist position is critical to the clinical determination of a person meeting the criteria for OPWDD services as well as for review and completion of the Level of Care form allowing individuals to enroll into the waiver.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete a clinical review of eligibility documentation comprised of testing and assessments for first step.
• Participate in the second step eligibility committee as requested to review cases deemed to have not met criteria at the first step review.
• Assist with coordination of documents for Fair Hearings.
• Complete adaptive assessments to become part of the eligibility file for review by another clinician.
• Review, coordinate and monitor the Level of Care documents to allow for waiver serve enrollment and subsequent person-centered service enrollment.
• Utilize data and tracking platforms to allow for timely customer service.
• Assist with reviewing the approximately 5000 cases that are completed annually within a 30 day deadline.
• There are currently over 22,000 people within the region with eligibility and waiver enrollment, there are regularly circumstances that require a re-review of both eligibility and updated Level of Care forms.
