Minimum Qualifications The candidate must possess a New York State driver license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Candidate may be required to possess a CDL Class A, B, C, or General D license.

The candidate must have knowledge of New York State vehicle and traffic law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of a motor vehicle. The candidate is required to be bonded with the Office of State Comptroller (OSC) Treasury to receive payroll for Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) distribution.

Preferred Qualification: Ability to bend and lift 70 pounds

Duties Description Under the direction of the Assistant Office Services Manager, the Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO) will be assigned to the Physical Operations group in the Facilities Management bureau within the Division of Finance. As a Motor Vehicle Operator, the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out daily activities within ITS facilities. The MVO will deliver mail and equipment to various ITS locations throughout the Capital District, which includes assisting with moves of ITS employees and their equipment to and from ITS facilities. To ensure agency IT services are met, the following duties will be performed:

• Drives a state vehicle to facilitate transfer of employees and/or equipment to various ITS locations as needed.
• Collects, groups, and transports all mail and packages to and from ITS and Client Agency locations.
• Lifts and carries crates, carton, boxes, and other cargo on and off transport vehicles.
• Assists with large projects that entail the transfer of numerous ITS staff and equipment as needed.
• Completes and submits monthly mileage reports for vehicles used.
• Performs routine daily inspections/maintenance (fuel level, fluid levels, tire pressures, general condition) to vehicles operated.
• Cleans/washes vehicles as needed.
• Other duties as required.
