Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)**

To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position:
• High school or high school equivalency diploma
• Three years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.

Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
Reachable on the eligible list for Program Aide, or current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, OR New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new data systems. Knowledge of NYS Medicaid Compliance Program rules and regulations (18 NYCRR Part 521) is a plus.

Duties Description This position will support the Compliance Program Review process for the Bureau of Compliance. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Entering information into project management systems
• Tracking tasks and communications to ensure appropriate follow-up occurs.
• Photocopying and scanning compliance program review information into OMIG computer systems.
• Preparing and reviewing letters to ensure accuracy of information.
• Processing mail.
• Responding to compliance-related telephone calls, emails, and letters received (including dedicated bureau telephone and email accounts).
• Providing objective and constructive guidance and assistance to providers in a collaborative manner that is consistent with bureau policy, procedure, and direction.
• Working in coordination with other bureau staff
• Other duties as assigned.

**The Department of Civil Service has developed the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS), which is a streamlined program that allows appointment to this title and others without examination.

For the duration of the NY HELPS program, this title, may be filled via permanent, non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the titles for which they apply.
