Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or non-competitive 55b/c service as a Senior Attorney for reassignment ~OR~ have one year of permanent competitive or non-competitive 55b/c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The Senior Attorney will provide legal assistance and support to the OASAS General Counsel and other senior OASAS administrators. The incumbent will be expected to provide legal analysis in areas which are expected to have a major impact on the mission and programs of OASAS. They will analyze state, local and federal laws and prepare legal memoranda; assist the General Counsel and other senior administrators of OASAS in matters before the State Legislature and local governments; assist the General Counsel in representing the agency in many different forums which may include other state, federal or local agencies, private individuals and provider representatives, state legislators and legislative staff, and advisory boards and provider organizations; and other duties as required. Prior experience in contracts, procurements, regulatory drafting and process, and Medicaid policy preferred.
