Minimum Qualifications Non Competitive Minimum Qualifications: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two years of post-licensure, specialized professional administrative or professional clinical experience.

Substitution: a bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing may substitute
for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of NYS Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) and Managed Long Term Care. Experience in managing complex programs that service high need populations.

Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of policies governing New York State’s Medicaid Managed Care program. The incumbent will provide surveillance and oversight of the Managed Care Organizations new enrollee health screening, which is required per the Medicaid Managed Care/Family Health Plus/HIV Special Needs Plan/Health and Recovery Plan Model Contract between NYS and the Managed Care Organizations. The incumbent will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, including Performance Improvement Projects, participate on workgroups with the Office of Quality & Patient Safety (OQPS), and coordinate activities with managed care organizations. The incumbent will review and approve and provide surveillance and regulation of the Managed Care Organizations related to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure that care provided meets standards of practice and complies with State and federal statutes and regulations. They will also provide technical assistance to managed care organizations to assist with compliance in serving persons with disabilities.

Additional Comments *Posted salary range includes the statutory hiring rate at step 4and job rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($79,342 - $98,129) and an additional Geographic Pay Differential of $20,000
