Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following experience and competencies:
•Associate’s degree is preferred, but not required
•Detail-oriented individual with initiative
•Organized and able to multi-task
•Able to work independently, with minimal supervision as well as with others; team player
•Familiarity with the NYS Financial Management System (SFMS) is preferred, but not required
•Familiarity with EXCEL is preferred

Duties Description The New York State Senate is seeking motivated, organized and detail-oriented individuals to fill two Accounts Payable Clerk positions in the Fiscal Office. The professionals in this position will work closely with our Purchasing, Receiving, and Operations departments to ensure that the integrity of the Senate's defined financial procedures are followed and adhered to. These individuals will be required to interact with vendors and numerous Senate offices daily to discuss and resolve issues with invoices, answer questions, and solicit required documents.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:
•Review and process incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, ensure required authorizations, signatures, receiving and supporting documents are in order
•Provide administrative support to office staff and management as needed
•Maintain organized files and records on all processed Purchase Orders, Invoices and Payment Vouchers according to Senate guidelines
•Interact professionally with other vendors, Senate members and office staff as well as representatives from other state agencies to resolve any issues and/or inquiries

Additional Comments Full time (35 hour work week) Office Hours - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary is $30,000 to $34,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
