Minimum Qualifications Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, Grade 23. OR: New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive service in a title eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, Grade 23, under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate would have experience with Medicaid Managed Care, and Microsoft Office Applications.

Duties Description This position is needed for the OHIP’s Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight, Bureau of Managed Care Certification and Surveillance. The incumbent will be employed in the Albany Central Office. The position includes but is not limited to the daily activities related to ensuring Managed Care Organizations in New York State are compliant in accordance with regulations, statutes, and the Medicaid Contract. Duties may include:
• Coordinate with survey team for MCO survey schedules.
• Team lead or member for surveys of MCOs
• Assist in the development and revisions of surveillance tools and protocol.
• Assist in interpreting and clarifying policy guidelines as well as identifying critical issues for bureau and division leadership.
• Communicate with MCO staff and management regarding DOH policy changes, guidance, or other applicable correspondence.
• Communicate with other DOH bureaus or State partners where applicable.
• Daily supervision of professional staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy of work assignments.
• Participate in ongoing educational needs, training, and guidance for staff.
• Special projects and other related duties as assigned.
• Travel throughout New York State is required.
