The Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center (HVTMC) is a fast-paced environment where you'll gain experience in transportation technology and contribute to improving traffic flow in the Hudson Valley Region. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside professionals who are dedicated to keeping the region's transportation system running smoothly.

Duties will vary depending on the specific project, but may include:

• Fieldwork: Assist with data collection on ITS infrastructure, including traffic sensors, connected vehicle devices, and other components.
• Data Analysis and Management: Contribute to the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Asset Management System by analyzing ITS data and integrating it with existing asset information.
• ITS Design and Implementation: Utilize software like MicroStation to assist in the design and planning of new ITS deployments.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare clear and concise reports documenting your progress, findings, and recommendations on ITS projects.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
