Minimum Qualifications 70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 10 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service.


NON COMPETITVE PROMOTON (NCP) QUALIFICATIONS:
The Department of Civil Service is considering making a request to the Department of Civil Service to hold a non-competitive promotion examination for the above title in accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law if three or fewer interested promotional candidates respond to this notice. Before submitting such a request, we must ascertain if anyone meeting the minimum qualifications is interested in competing in a promotional examination for the above title and if they would accept appointment if offered. To qualify, you must be a current Department of Civil Service employee. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title. Please note this will be a competitive appointment. The term non-competitive refers to the appointed candidate not needing to compete in the next holding of the examination.

The minimum qualifications for NCP appointment are:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service as a Print Equipment Operator 2 (Digital).

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Since there is no current eligible list for the Print Equipment Operator 3 (Digital) the Department may elect to make a provisional appointment to this position rather than a permanent appointment. If a provisional appointment is made, the appointed candidate will be required to compete in the next holding of the Print Equipment Operator 3 (Digital) exam and be reachable for appointment from the newly established eligible list.

The minimum qualifications for Provisional appointment are:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service as a Print Equipment Operator 2 (Digital).

SUBSEQUENT 55 B/C TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
Current permanent non-competitive state employees certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response and meet the 70.1 transfer qualifications listed above.

Duties Description The Office of Financial Administration (OFA) is responsible for overall agency fiscal management and administering the procurement process. As the Department carries out key initiatives to transform the way services are delivered to partner agencies and to the public, this position will play an important role in ensuring the success of these modernization efforts.
The Print Equipment Operator 3 (Digital) duties in Office of Financial Administration (OFA) will include but are not limited to the following:
• Scheduling production based on such factors as work priorities and type of equipment and materials to be used while ensuring the most effective us of equipment and materials.
• Planning for future production runs by ensuring the needed materials and equipment will be available.
• Coordinating the work of the Print Shop with that of other operations, such as Shipping or Exams Control, to ensure a continuous flow of work and that schedules are met.
• Providing instruction and answering questions regarding the operation and maintenance of equipment. Contact the vendor with any problems or questions.
• Observing work while in progress to ensure that quality and quantity standards are maintained. Assist staff when needed to be sure all materials are produced on time.
• Periodically inspecting equipment according to preventative maintenance schedules, making necessary adjustments, and performing routine maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot problems that occur and contact the vendors when service or a repair is needed. Works with the technicians when necessary to be sure he is doing everything correctly. Garry also does the general maintenance on the various other equipment in the office, which includes the tabletop folding machine, cutter, and drill press.
• Setting up print jobs electronically and assigning work specifying the equipment to be used, type of ink/toner and paper stock, and determining the proper size, weight and color of papers for the job.
• Make sure the jobs are formatted correctly, pages numbers are placed correctly, front and back pages are laid out correctly, colored head sheets are used when needed, and all files have been received.
• Preparing standard production reports.
• Keep track of all the materials being printed for the department and the number of impressions for each copier. Keep track of the supplies being used for the month and keep management aware of any concerns.
