52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as a Investigative Officer 1. If 3 or fewer qualified Department of Labor Investigative Officer 1 respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified Investigative Officer 1 without further examination.

Note: Non-competitive refers to not competing in an examination; the appointment will be competitive.

As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.

Duties Description As an Investigative Officer 2 (UI), you would oversee the activities of a team of Investigative Officers 1 engaged in investigating allegations of Unemployment Insurance fraud, including alleged identity theft and fraudulent claims; provide training and mentoring to team members; assign cases for investigation; review and approve completed cases; serve as liaison with law enforcement and District Attorney offices in the geographical region; and prepare reports for the Investigative Officer 3 or Investigative Officer 4.

Additional Comments This position may require a fingerprint background check prior to appointment.

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
