Reassignment Qualifications:
Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Safety and Health Inspector Program Manager 1; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Safety and Health Program Manager 1 eligible list for this location, if one exists.
70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Grade 23 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the Program Manager 2, the Safety and Health Program Manager 1 in the Division of Safety and Health (PESH Bureau), will provide assistance and guidance in the operation of the program. This includes coordination of staff development and training, preparing interpretations of rules and regulations, support of the strategic plan through review and coordination of activities, and performing case file audits to improve inspection consistency across the state and to ensure adequate case file documentation.

Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Additional Comments As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
This position may require a fingerprint background check prior to appointment.
Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
Additional location pay is available for the following counties: Bronx, Kings, Nassau, NYC-Manhattan, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, and Putnam.
