Duties Description DUTIES DESCRIPTION:

The Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 will directly or indirectly supervise registered professional nurses and clinical staff. The responsibilities include ensuring implementation of facility policies and procedures related to nursing, initiating special investigations, teaching appropriate nursing techniques, and reviewing individuals records for compliance with agency/practice protocol and developing a plan for correcting any deficiencies found. The Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 will participate the Medical Consent Committee. The Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 will be actively involved in the electronic health record use and implementation.

• Ensures that the assigned RN’s coordinate appointments for primary visits, consultant services and required tests.
• Ensures that medications and treatments are administered according to approved policies and regulations.
• Ensures that RN’s are providing nursing component to the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Ensures that timely and current training is provided to RN’s, LPN’s and direct support staff in areas of medication administration, medical policies, and any other nursing or medical issues.
• Provides quality assurance activities by ensuring that all applicable regulations are followed.
• Coordinates with hospitals and long-term care support for end of life issues and/or plan safe discharges back to medically complex houses.
• Functions as a member of the DDSO Medical Policy Committee, to develop and/or revise policies regarding medical care and treatment.
• Functions as a member of the Nursing Board, to review matters regarding medication certification status of AMAPs.
• Completes audits and trending for the administrative team regarding medical services.
• Completes incident investigations as assigned.
• Preference for a skill set comparable to medical/ surgical nurse or similar experience to apply adequate medical expertise to the nursing service.
• Other duties as assigned.
