Minimum Qualifications One year of service as a Facility Operations Assistant 1 or Motor Vehicle Operator; OR, two years of full-time,
verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade. When
required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate
for the type of vehicle being operated. Where required to operate watercraft a NYS Safe Boating certificate is
required.

Duties Description Supervises other grounds, custodial or maintenance staff. Provides work assignments based on priorities set by management ensuring schedules, standards and guidelines are met.
Performs routine maintenance and repair of plumbing and electric. Repairs doors, windows, railing, docks and tent platforms. Under supervision assists in renovating buildings and structures. Performs interior and exterior painting, Responds to equipment problems solving minor ones and directing major ones to the supervisor. Assists with the removal of dangerous
and hazardous trees. Will operate a variety of hand and power tools and motorized equipment including self-propelled and stationary machinery. Will assist in the installation and removal of
docks and navigation buoys. May assist with the removal of trash and recycling material from the campgrounds. Will plan landscaping and other grounds projects by preparing rough
sketches, schedules, estimates of labor and materials. Must follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE for the job at hand.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal watercrafts at time of appointment.

This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 11/30/2024, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
