52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as a Administrative Assistant 1. If 3 or fewer qualified Department of Labor Administrative Assistant 1 respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified Administrative Assistant 1 without further examination.

Note: Non-competitive refers to not competing in an examination; the appointment will be competitive.

Provisional Qualifications:
You must be a qualified Department of Labor employee and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Examination Composition Assistant, Keyboard Specialist 2, Keyboard Specialist 2, Keyboard Specialist 3, Law Department Document Specialist, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding, Administrative Assistant 1, Administrative Assistant 1, or Senior Data Entry Machine Operator.

Only the titles listed are qualifying. The appointed candidate would have to take, pass and be reachable on the next holding of the examination to be appointed permanently.

70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as a Grade 13 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service. Keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. Candidates who have not previously held a keyboarding title must pass a 5-minute typing session with a speed of 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.

Duties Description Standard Duties:

As an Administrative Assistant 2, you may be responsible for establishing office procedures; design filing systems; implement policies and procedures; maintain efficient work flow; resolve day-to-day operational problems; respond to phone calls; sort mail; organize, expedite and follow up on projects; and coordinate information flow by acting as liaison among executives, staff, other employees and the public.
