Minimum Qualifications Preferred qualifications: Experience in food service.
Duties Description -Prepares daily menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner including snacks for the residents at the Academy.
-Plans ahead on food preparation so that food is ready for each meal.
-Inventories food and beverage supplies to ensure that foods are used prior to expiration date.
-Prepares special foods requiring special dietary needs.
-Measures, mixes, stirs, cuts, grinds, chops and seasons ingredients accordingly using a variety of hand-held and power kitchen utensils and equipment.
-Bakes, roasts, broils, fries and steams food as required and observes and tastes food and adds ingredients and seasoning as necessary.
-Arranges for distribution of food by placing into service trays for dining areas.
-Ensures that proper sanitation and food and beverage storage procedures are always followed.
Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
Must have a working knowledge of using cooking utensils such as grills, grinders, knives, measuring devices, mixers, ovens
Must be able to receive, unpack, sort and store foods and beverages according to established kitchen/food procedures.
Must have basic computer knowledge skills including email use, internet use and Microsoft Office 365 programs.
Must be able to work a variable schedule including weekends, holidays, and days and evenings.
Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
