Duties Description The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office of Coordinated Nursing Services (OCNS) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry, G-24, position. Under the direction of the OCNS Deputy Director, the Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry will serve as an administrative team lead working toward enhanced capacity to provide compassionate, evidence-based informed care to an underserved psychiatric treatment population. OCNS works collaboratively with facility nursing services across OMH subspecialties of Child, Adult, & Forensic to develop and support education and training of Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs, and Direct Care staff. OCNS oversees the implementation of evidenced-based nursing practices to drive quality and excellence in psychiatric mental health nursing throughout OMH State Operated Psychiatric Centers and licensed programs. This position will be responsible for educational leadership, collaboration, and participation in all activities related to education, training, and research targeting multiple levels of OMH Nursing Services spanning psychiatric facilities located throughout NYS.

Duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Organize and facilitate the development and implementation of the Nurse Practitioner Fellowship Program
o• Collaborate with the staff from Central Office and State Operations Bureau of Quality Management on activities to promote compliance with Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, The Joint Commission and other accreditation standards
• Collaborate with facility CNOs and Nurse Educators to drive dissemination of evidence informed best practices to provide high quality and excellence in Psychiatric Mental Health patient care.

Additional Comments Posted salary includes a $22,581 Increased Hiring Rate as well as a $25,000 Geographic Pay Differential.
