Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the eligible list for Program Aide, OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, OR New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detailed oriented and capable of working independently. Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat programs with the ability to learn new data systems.

Duties Description The Division of Medicaid Investigations (DMI) ensures the integrity of the Medicaid program by conducting investigations, recovering overpayments, and implementing administrative sanctions against providers and recipients. The Program Aide will support the Recipient Restriction Program (RRP) within DMI. The RRP is responsible for performing comprehensive utilization reviews of a recipient’s Medicaid services and restricting them to primary providers to coordinate medical services, improve quality of care, and control unnecessary costs. Duties of the position will include, but are not limited to:

• Updating and storing restriction information within Access databases, FACTS, and eMedNY.
• Responding to inquiries from other agencies, Managed Care Organizations (MCO’s), and other divisions within OMIG regarding tracking and coordination of restrictions.
• Implementing restrictions, which can include verifying recipient addresses, selecting providers, printing Notices of Intent to Restrict letters, inputting data into database, compiling data to mail, performing all mailings, and filing case record information.
• Run monthly reports to ensure accurate and timely implementation of restrictions from other agencies.
• Monitoring all shared OMIG accounts and the RRP phone line by answering messages, forwarding inquiries to appropriate team members as needed, and logging all calls received.
• Maintaining RRP documents used to coordinate restrictions with other agencies and/or providers.
• Mailing unit correspondence.
