You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have at least one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Chief Forensic Unit 1, Chief Psychologist, Coordinator of Intensive Case Management Services, Director of Nursing, Forensic Services Program Administrator 1, Forensic Services Program Administrator 2, Mental Health Rehabilitation Program Director 1, Mental Hygiene Nursing Program Coordinator, Principal Psychologist, Residential Program Manager 4, Social Work Supervisor 3, Social Work Supervisor 3 (Spanish Language), Social Work Supervisor 3 (LCSW), Social Work Supervisor 3 [LCSW] (Spanish Language), Treatment Team Leader (Mental Health), Treatment Team Leader [Mental Health] (Spanish Language), Treatment Team Leader (Children & Youth), or Treatment Team Leader [Children & Youth] (Spanish Language).
If you are appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.
Duties Description As a Chief of Mental Health Treatment Service, you would plan, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive care and treatment programs at OMH psychiatric facilities. You would supervise and direct treatment team leaders and various staff in the delivery of care and treatment services to individuals with mental illness; engage facility leadership, local officials, mental health representatives, families, private groups, and individuals with mental illness to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of care and treatment services; review the scope and details of existing facility programs in a given area to assess their value; monitor facility admissions and discharge processes to maintain unit census; oversee environmental reviews to ensure safe and therapeutic patient environments; and maintain compliance with the regulatory environment, including standards and regulations of The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Inspection of Care surveys, in order to sustain levels of care and service.

Additional Comments:
This position is eligible for the Mid-Hudson Adjustment of $1,650.

If you are appointed and lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
