Duties Description The State University of New York (SUNY) is searching for an Assistant Vice Chancellor for Internship and Employer Partnerships to serve as the System-wide leader for implementing SUNY's goal that every undergraduate will complete an internship or other high-quality experiential learning opportunity before graduation, a key component of fulfilling Chancellor's King's Four Pillars (students success; research and scholarship; diversity, equity, and inclusion; economic development and upward mobility).
Duties include:
Developing and leading implementation of a strategic plan for scaling high-quality credit-bearing and/or paid internship programs, including providing technical assistance to campuses and leading communities of practice to address key barriers to scale and the development of related tools to further effect lasting impact.
Identifying, building, and expanding partnerships between employers and campuses to expand internship opportunities.
Developing effective communication strategies for reaching a diverse community of potential interns across SUNY's 64 campuses.
Coordinating all SUNY System internship funding and programs, directly or through collaboration with relevant program offices, to ensure high levels of cooperation and program delivery across partnerships.
Partnering with the SUNY Impact Foundation Executive Director to seek philanthropic and corporate support for internship expansion.
Maintaining SUNY's High Impact Practices metric for scaling internships, in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research, and disseminating findings and best practices to campuses and other stakeholders.
Developing data analysis strategies based on a strong foundational understanding of labor markets and trends and providing ongoing reporting to leadership on programmatic success.
Cultivating, building, and maintaining a coalition of stakeholders - including employer, labor, community-based, and advocacy organizations - committed to achieving SUNY's stated internship goal.
Partnering with campus faculty and staff to make sure students are aware of internship opportunities, prepared to succeed in their internships, and able to connect their internship experiences to academic study where relevant.
Establishing related feedback loops with campuses, interns and employers to ensure continued program success and improvement.
Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least 10 years of direct experience with internships and employer partnerships, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience with systems development and scaling and managing programs in excess of $1M.
- Understanding of higher education, with preference for experience in or working with SUNY campuses.
- Familiarity with career services platforms and best practices for reaching diverse candidates.
- Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
Additional Comments alary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000.
