Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4 (SG-25), this position will support approximately 11,000 programs comprising the 70+ DOCCS mainframe applications. Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Develop, enhance, and/or maintain mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment using IBM Enterprise COBOL, CICS, CA-Easytrieve Plus, JCL, and DB2 SQL
•Support and document all phases of a system development lifecycle
•Develop functional program designs
•Develop and maintain stored procedures, subroutines, batch and interactive programs.
•Code, test, and debug programs
•Gather business requirements and ensure user acceptance
•Provide user support for the assigned applications
•Provide status reports for assignments in a timely manner
•Perform the full range of supervisory duties
•Provide off-hours support on a rotating basis as part of Emergency Escalation Roster
Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience developing and supporting applications in IBM COBOL.
The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:
-Associate’s degree and four years of experience
-Associate’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and three years of experience
-Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience
-Bachelor’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and two years of experience
-Master’s degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience
-Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience
Additional Comments Fingerprinting and background check are required for employment with ITS.
