Duties Description As a Nutrition Services Administrator 1, you will supervise professional Dietitians;
• Assist in developing food service policies and procedures relating to resident treatment and care
• Develop and participate in quality assurance and improvement practices related to nutrition services
• Plan for the nutritional and dietetic needs of a specialized population by providing balanced diets that specifically address each patient’s needs
• Serve as nutrition services liaison and educator for medical, clinical, administrative, residential, and program staff as well as local voluntary agencies on subjects related to nutrition services as requested.

Minimum Qualifications Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Nutrition Services Administrator 1 to oversee, manage, and administer their food, nutrition, and dietetic programs. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Nutrition Services Administrator 1 if they have:
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietician (RD) or Certification in Dietetics-Nutrition by NYS Education Department
AND
Two years of post-registration/certification professional administrative experience in a food or nutrition program, one year of which must have been at a supervisory level.
OR
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Nutrition Services Administrator 1 eligible list.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
OR
In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Nutrition Services Administrator 1 at Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.
The promotion field for the Nutrition Services Administrator 1 position consists of candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as a Dietitian 2.

This position is eligible for a Downstate Adjustment of $3,400.
