LOCATION/UNIT: University Police
TITLE/SALARY GRADE: University Police Officer 1, SG-14
DURATION: Permanent
SALARY: $59,298/annually (NOTE: Current or reconstructed salary for state employees in accordance with NYS Audit and Control)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: University Police at ESF are responsible for community policing, enforcing NYS laws and SUNY regulations, and educating the ESF community. Community engagement is the cornerstone of University Police at ESF and participation in events is strongly encouraged. Officers are expected to be regular and active community members. University Police use motor vehicles, on-foot, and bicycle patrol methods. Occasional desk officer assignments are sometimes required. Pre-employment Physical Agility Performance Test must be successfully completed as well as the successful completion of a personal background investigation. NYS driver's license is required and must be valid.
Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be reachable on current University Police Officer 1, SG-14 list or currently hold the title of University Police Officer 1, SG-14, or a title from which transfer is appropriate.

In accordance with the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act" institutions of higher education are required to prepare an annual report containing information on campus security policies and campus statistics. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by SUNY-ESF; and on property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters.
