Duties Description The incumbent will report to the Office of Fire Prevention and Control's Academy of Fire Science.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
•Under the direction of a higher-level employee, Food Service Workers 1 perform a variety of activities related to the storage, preparation and service of food:
•Wash food service equipment: including garbage cans and general kitchen cooking utensils, by hand and machine, using a variety of cleaning substances;
•Wash storage areas, including food preparation areas, by hand and machine using a variety of cleaning substances;
•Store deliveries in appropriate storage areas;
•Bring food and other supplies to preparation and service areas as directed;
•Clean fruit, vegetables and potatoes in preparation for cooking as directed;
•Cook grill type foods such as hamburgers and eggs;
•Serve food in proper portions to students;
•Ensure students on special diets receive proper food an portions;
•Wash and sanitize dining room areas including chairs, tables, and floors;
•Various duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and speak and write in English.

Additional Comments This position will be scheduled for 37.5 hours each week between the hours of 6:00AM to 7:00PM and including evening, weekend, and non-continuous hours.

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, a ServSafe food and safety training and certification.

NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
