Duties Description These position will be working on the Saratoga Lake Angler Creel Survey to collect angler data. The positions will involve implementing an angler survey that involves direct contact interviews of anglers and recording data from fishing trips in a standard manner while on the lake from a boat. Technicians are required to work weekend days and holidays and also during weekdays. Scheduled work times vary with the changing daylight period. Technicians work 40 hours per week. Technicians must effectively interact and communicate with the public, ask questions regarding angling experience on the lake, and accurately record angler answers and biological data. Processing fish for length and weight may be required. Must work effectively both independently and as a team member. Will also work out of the Warrensburg office when the creel is not active.

Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 9/30/25. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
