Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As an Investigative Specialist 4 (Labor Standards) in Labor Standards, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the operation of district and special offices in a designated geographic region; reviews and evaluates unit operations and procedures; determines investigative priorities; evaluates work output, methods and flow; recommends changes in investigative procedures, methods and techniques; assists the Director and Assistant Director in the formulation and implementation of division policy; conducts special studies and projects.

Reassignment Qualifications:
Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in an Investigative Specialist 4 (Labor Standards); if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Investigative Specialist 4 (Labor Standards) eligible list for this location, if one exists.
52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as an Investigative Specialist 3 (Labor Standards), Grade 25. In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, if three or fewer qualified Department of Labor Investigative Specialist 3 (Labor Standards), Grade 25 respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified candidates without further examination.
Provisional Qualifications:
Candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as an Investigative Specialist 3 (Labor Standards), Grade 25. The appointed candidate would have to take, pass and be reachable on the next holding of the examination to be appointed permanently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Additional Comments This position may require a fingerprint background check prior to appointment.
Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
