Salary RangeFrom $145754 to $176123 Annually
Duties Description Incumbent will provide the Agency Counsel and/or Agency Head with legal advice for the agency Board and staff in all matters, including litigation, briefs and legal papers, research, opinions and representation by Attorney General; confer and correspond with outside agencies on questions of law and procedure; conduct administrative hearings in connection with regulatory proceedings; review and analyze records of hearings; provide and supervise legal advice to staff. Incumbent may supervise staff and complete performance evaluations.
Incumbent will serve as the Agency Ethics Officer.
Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be admitted to the New York State Bar and must have had four years of experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar.

Additional Comments Salary Grade: M-3. The starting salary for this position is $145,754. The salary range is $145,754 to 176,123.
For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
