Under the direction of the Aviation Assistant Bureau Director, the Associate Administrative Analyst will be integral to the Aviation Planning section, focusing on the critical needs of the aviation industry. This role involves analyzing, updating, creating and maintaining operations, reports, legislation, policy and manuals within the Aviation Bureau, at Republic and Stewart airports. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Prepares or directs the preparation of detailed reports and materials necessary to implement needs of aviation management.
• May review Airport Layout plans and Airport Master Plans
• Compiles, tracks, and analyzes performance measure data relevant to aviation, providing essential information to agency management and other state entities to address performance concerns.
• Analyzes the impact of legislative proposals or new initiatives on aviation-related agency policies and procedures, as well as the aviation industry.
• Plans, organizes, and completes projects focused on aviation analysis and studies, including those that support operations at Republic Airport. Work may include lease, financial, building management, aviation engineering or grant management projects.
• Reviews subordinate work for compliance with aviation schedules and project goals while ensuring the accuracy and soundness of recommendations, including State Aviation System Plan, Economic Impacts of Aviation and other statewide aviation plans.
• Provides technical guidance and direction to staff, suggesting corrective measures when needed, to address gaps in aviation administrative processes.
• Trains employees in aviation-specific administrative procedures, techniques, and methods, ensuring they are equipped with up-to-date knowledge of internal controls and changes to applicable laws, rules, and regulations affecting aviation program operations.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
