Duties Description The Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP) is responsible for the oversight of ~450 laboratories performing environmental testing on NYS samples. The Program Aide responsibilities in ELAP will include: invoicing, entering and tracking payments; compiling, tabulating, and verifying financial and statistical data; acting as a liaisons with laboratories and other State agencies; maintaining and filing documentation; monitoring, ordering and distributing supplies; using databases, performing data entry and data review. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, Grade 13 (formerly known as Administrative Aide, Grade 13, or Agency Program Aide, Grade 13).

Transfer Opportunity: New York State employee with one or more years of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at Grade 11 or above, and eligible for transfer to Program Aide, Grade 13, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team as well as handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Comments Contingent permanent, full-time, competitive appointment. Transfer candidates may be asked for their social security number to verify transfer eligibility.
