Duties Description Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility is recruiting a Director Nursing 3 (Psychiatric) to serve as the Chief Nursing Officer and is a member of KPC’s executive management team.

As the Chief Nursing Officer, you will oversee and manage KPC’s nursing department including nursing and direct care services provided to individuals with mental illness in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community setting including:
• Implementing nursing policies, procedures, programs, goals, and objectives
• Overseeing recruitment, training, and continuing education for nursing and direct care staff
• Monitoring staffing, assignments, and scheduling to ensure quality care
• Ensuring nursing operations are in compliance with laws, regulations, and standards of care
• Preparing for regulatory visits and surveys




Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Director Nursing 3 Psychiatric if they have:
• NYS license and current registration as a registered professional nurse; and
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; and
• 3 years of post-licensure clinical and administrative nursing experience. 2 years of this experience must have been in a nursing management position with overall responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing programs and services in a mental health, developmental disabilities, addictions, or long-term care setting or psychiatric program in a health care setting.

Substitution: Master's in nursing can substitute for 1 year of non-managerial post-licensure clinical nursing experience.

OR

Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Director Nursing 2 Psychiatric eligible list.

KPC, located in Brooklyn, New York, is a community-based mental health facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to adults in Kings County and the Greater NYC region. KPC delivers comprehensive, integrated services to hospitalized patients and operates three Transitional Living Residences; an 80-bed Family Care Program with certified homes in the community; a satellite clinic on campus; and two community-based outpatient clinics located in the Canarsie and Williamsburg neighborhoods. The clinics provide assessment and treatment planning; health screening and referrals; discharge planning; verbal therapies; medication therapy; medication education; symptoms management; psychiatric rehabilitation readiness determination; case management; crisis management; clinical support; mobile outreach; and family support services.

Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for M/C M-4 ($123,793), an Increase Hiring Rate ($21,620), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000), and Downstate Adjustment ($4,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($156,224), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000) and the Downstate Adjustment ($4,000).
