Duties Description Reporting to the Bureau Director, duties include but are not limited to:
• Oversee Minimum Data Set (MDS) reviews of nursing homes.
• Select audits to be conducted, taking into consideration the last time the provider was audited, findings found on prior audits and requests to audit from DMI, DOH, or MFCU.
• Work with the supervisors to coordinate fieldwork.
• Approve audit work, correspondence, and reports.
• Review findings and oversee the submission of Access databases to DOH via DSUR for rate change calculations.
• Offer technical advice to Office of Counsel throughout the litigation process including testifying if necessary.
• Represent the OMIG in meetings and discussions with government agencies, providers, health care associations, and other stakeholders.
• Provide supervision and mentoring direct staff.
• Travel will be required.

Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with one year of Competitive Permanent or Contingent-permanent service in a title designated as eligible for transfer to the Auditor 3 (Medicaid) title under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

*Must possess 24 semester credit hours in Accounting, Auditing or Taxation.

The position may also be filled by appointment of a candidate who is immediately reachable from the list generated from the Auditor 3 (Medicaid) examination.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent written communication (both verbal and written), analytical, interpersonal and supervisory skills; knowledge/experience with computers, particularly for audit activities. Specific experience and knowledge in the Minimum Data Set (MDS).
