Duties Description Provide skilled care to the Veterans who reside at the Home, such as but not limited to: bathing, dressing, feeding, general hygiene, transfer of residents, care of ostomies, colostomy & ileostomy, maintenance of individual range of motion to prevent contractures, recognition and reporting of abnormal signs and symptoms of common conditions/diseases, measurement and recording of fluid intake, and assistance to the health care team in treatments and observations, along with all aspects of daily living care. May accompany the transport of residents to outside appointments.
Minimum Qualifications Current New York Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health St. Albans' employees with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Nursing Assistant Certified, Grade 8.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Long-Term Care Facility.
Additional Comments Work hours vary. Day, Evening, or Night shifts are available with alternate weekends off.
Multiple permanent, competitive full-time appointments.
Posted salary range ($55,735 - $59,743) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 8, plus a geographic pay differential of $6,000 in addition to $4,000 of Downstate Adjustment.
If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
