Duties Description The Office Assistant 3 (Calculations) position will be assigned to the OPWDD Taconic Business Office. This position coordinates and oversees the flow of work for the Purchasing Department ensuring that the NYS Procurement Guidelines are met and followed. Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite and the Statewide Financial System is strongly preferred
This position
• Oversees the purchases for all community sites including offices and day habilitation sites.
• Facilitates the creation, maintenance, and encumbrances for yearly purchase orders for general purchases, contracts, CMM, and SFE funds.
• Ensures that all payments are made timely, as well as tracking all CMM purchase orders and payments for Central Office reporting.
• Responsible for determining the best procurement method based on purchasing need.
• Completes more complex procurements, must be familiar with creating purchase requisitions and the bidding process.
• Acts as a liaison between vendors and Taconic staff conveying information that will be helpful in resolving complaints and addressing issues that may arise.
• Audits monthly procurement card statements for Purchasing staff.
• Ensures that all regulations and procedures are followed.
• Coordinates with Work Control relating to projects needed for the entire facility’s maintenance needs.
• Supervision of staff is required.
• Collaboration with various DDSOO’s purchasing offices is expected.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Competitive: Candidates must be reachable for appointment on Current Civil Service Eligible List for this title.
TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive, non-competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.

Additional Comments • Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the Mid-Hudson adjustment. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for CSEA Grade 14 ($56,506) and Mid-Hudson adjustment ($2,000). Mid-Hudson Adjustment added to the job rate ($68,630).
