Duties Description Buffalo Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide occupational therapy support and treatment services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide a variety of occupational therapy support and treatment services to individuals under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Duties include:

• Assist in conducting functional evaluations, screenings, and assessments
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans
• Administer and/or demonstrate treatment modalities and therapeutic techniques
• Observe and report progress, response, and behavior and recommend modifications if needed
• Maintain individual records and documentation

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as an Occupational Therapy Assistant if you are authorized and currently registered to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in New York.

OR

Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
