Duties Description Assists Forensic Scientists 1 - 4 in completing a variety of standard laboratory procedures.
Sets up and operates equipment. Maintains equipment and supplies for the laboratory.
May train and/or observe new staff members in the conduct of examinations, use of equipment, quality control procedures, sample handling and record keeping.
Maintains compliance with all applicable protocols, procedures, and accreditation guidelines; assists in audit preparation and, if applicable, remediation.
May be assigned to conduct tasks to support development of new procedures and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications Requires successful completion (passing grade) of 120 credit hours (or equivalent) of college course work, with at least 18 credit hours in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, science technology, molecular biology, genetics, statistics, or related areas,
OR
Three years of experience performing forensic biology, molecular biology or related tests and procedures in a laboratory setting.
Minimum qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
