Duties Description This position serves as the lead support staff within the Graduate Admissions office. This support person will manage and carry out the day-to-day administrative responsibilities within the office that help support the enrollment goals of the institution. Other reasonable duties as assigned
• Serves as the primary point of contact for all front office operations to include, including greeting members of the college, students, and community. Manage phones to initiate communication with prospective students regarding the application process. Communicate application status updates, missing application materials, and the timeline of the application process to current applicants.
• Process domestic and international application loads in Slate (which is our customer relationship management system) every week and troubleshoot issues that occur with that process.
• Consolidate and reconcile domestic and international graduate records in Slate every week.
• Coordinate and generate office mailings to include recruitment mailings. Maintain the office inventory of supplies, forms, and publications.
• Work closely with the Director to manage and reconcile the admissions budget. Prepare purchase requisitions and assist with agent contracts, tracking, and billing
Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS) - For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
To be eligible for appointment under NY HELPS, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications below:
NY HELPS- Six months of experience in administrative support, which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and/or office administration. To be advanced to the full performance level of this title you must successfully complete a set training and development program. Upon satisfactory completion of the 12-month training at the Trainee 1, you will automatically advance to Trainee 2
