Duties Description Central New York Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Mental Hygiene Staff Development Specialist 1 to assist Training Specialists in the planning, development, and presentation of training programs to improve the knowledge and abilities of those caring for and treating individuals in facility and community settings. Incumbents directly participate in the preparation and delivery of facility and community training programs.

As a Mental Hygiene Staff Development Specialist 1, under the direction of a Mental Hygiene Staff Development Specialist 2 or higher-level Training Specialist:
• Assist in the development and preparation of facility and community training programs
• Inform employees of available training and educational opportunities
• Present portions of established training programs and lessons
• Demonstrate basic first aid, safety, and treatment techniques

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
