Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.

Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Technology, SG-NS, the Engagement Director for UISIM (Project Director, SG-29), will be a key player in overseeing client relationships, leading strategy development for UISIM, and ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction by acting as a primary liaison between DOL program area staff and the dedicated ITS team. Key responsibilities include managing project lifecycles, coordinating with technical and marketing departments, analyzing data to identify client needs, and driving new business opportunities for the NYS Department of Labor. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects while fostering collaboration between internal and external teams.
Specific duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Act as the primary ITS point of contact for UISIM stakeholders, building strong relationships and proactively managing expectations throughout the remaining UISIM project delivery / Go-Live and Post Go Live warranty periods.
Provide strategic oversight for UISIM project delivery, ensuring that milestones/defect fixes/enhancements are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Guarantee that UISIM deliverables align with DOL’s business goals and NYS ITS strategic objectives.
Guide and direct internal project teams, including project managers, analysts, and developers, to ensure a high-quality standard of service.
Develop and implement engagement strategies to enhance DOL satisfaction and identify opportunities for growth within existing product families.
Act as a point of escalation for major incidents or customer issues, using exceptional problem-solving skills to assist the ITS dedicated team in finding and implementing solutions.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and project metrics, providing regular updates to clients and senior management.
Foster effective communication and collaboration within the project team and with stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications Eight years of experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field, including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience.

The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:
• Associate’s degree and seven years of experience.
• Associate’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and six years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and five years of experience.
• Master’s degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience.
• Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
