Duties Description To serve as the Director of Issuing Office Support (IOS). The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Driver and Registration project
• Work with various stakeholders (for example, local state and federal agencies, vendors, industry partners, ITS, state and county run issuing offices, county clerks, various DMV business units, Operations Management, DMV Executive Management, etc.) on policy and procedure issues
• Update Operations management and DMV Execs on various initiatives and issues
• Participate on project teams as Operations’ subject matter expert (SME)
• Participate on the Clerk and DO Service Center Transformation project
• Establish qualitative and quantitative work standards for the unit, revising work priorities and assignments as needed
• Conduct staff meetings
• Coordinate training within the unit
• Provide guidance to supervisors in planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work operations and procedures for their individual areas, working with them to resolve issues
• Review new and revised procedures, providing comments and recommendations to management
• Identify significant operations or staffing problems and advise higher-level management
• Resolve problems and respond to more complex questions that cannot be settled at a lower level
• Ensure correspondence is addressed timely
• Ensure the phone unit is responding to inquires accurately and timely
• Ensure issuing offices are informed of changes to systems and procedures
• Resolve personnel issues
• Hire staff

Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employees with one year of permanent service in a G-23 title or higher eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law, or reachable on the Motor Vehicle Program Manager 1, M-1 eligible list.

Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.
