Duties Description This position will work in the Publications and Web Services Unit (PAWS) and will collaborate with content owners to create, publish, and manage digital content. This includes using front-end web technologies, including HTML and CSS, and publication design software to produce digital content that meets agency design and accessibility standards. In addition, the employee may participate in editing, proofreading, designing, formatting, and testing web, print, and multimedia content.
This position can be located in LGSA’s Albany Central Office or available Regional Offices.
Minimum Qualifications To be appointed to this position, you must have at least six (6) years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications.
An Associate’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree, can be substituted for two (2) years of general experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree can be substituted for four (4) years of general experience.
A Master’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree can be substituted for one (1) additional year of general experience
Education substitutions are not to exceed five (5) years of total experience.

Additional Comments Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Familiarity with front-end web technologies including HTML and CSS
Strong editing skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of and experience with producing ADA compliant content
Knowledge of and experience working with content management systems
Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities
Continuous improvement mindset
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Suite of products (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams)
Knowledge and use of Adobe products (e.g., InDesign, Acrobat, Premier)

Telecommuting: The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so. Generally, OSC employees may telecommute up to 5 days per pay period but may be approved to telecommute less.
