Duties Description Performs simple policy research including identifying stakeholder positions and data gathering. Assist in project development, implementation and oversight. This can include drafting, editing and developing proposals to address new policy initiatives or reassessing existing policies. Assists in the creation of documents for public dissemination including FAQs, Fact Sheets, or other reference materials as part of the policy or legislative implementation process. Reviews and summarizes information or written comments obtained through qualitative data gathering. Stays aware of state and national labor trends; monitors national, state, and local laws related to labor, employment, and economic issues; tracks legislation on behalf of division. Provide administrative assistance and policy support activities for assigned programs/units under the supervision of a higher level Policy Analyst or higher professional title.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Be a United States citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
Be 18 years of age or older
Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State*
Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent


Preferred Skill sets:
Ideally, the location would be NYC (Policy team is located at 199 Church St, New York, NY 10007). They could be flexible and work with an intern based in Albany.
