Duties Description The DMA Bureau of Provider Audit Unit is responsible for performing provider audits of various program specialties that receive Medicaid reimbursement to ensure program compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, rules and policies governing the NYS Medicaid program. The Medicaid Integrity Specialist 2 (Financial Analysis) will be responsible for conducting and/or supervising audits per OMIG audit policies and standards; supervising and training staff; reviewing audit universe/sample packages; targeting areas of audit’ gathering and researching data, billings and rates; conducting entrance and exit conferences; preparing work papers, spreadsheets and other schedules to document the audit and record findings; ensuring that all aspects of PADS is completed; preparing correspondence, draft and final reports; assisting in acting as liaison between OMIG and the auditee, attorneys, and other agencies, as needed. The Medicaid Integrity Specialist 2 (Financial Analysis) will work on and/or supervise all aspects of the audit process for a multiple of MCNP/FFS project types.

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the OMIG promotional list for Medicaid Integrity Specialist 2 (Financial Analysis) or be a current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent services in a title deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent verbal/written communication, analytical and personal skills; knowledge/experience with computers, particularly for audit activities and audit targeting. Experience in audits of fee-for-service providers of various specialties.

Additional Comments Position is eligible for Downstate Adjustment of $4,000.
