Duties Description Under the supervision of higher-level park operations staff, the Park Steward duties include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for ensuring the overall safety of the complexes, park grounds and patrons according to park rules and policies.
• Serve as ambassadors for the park, welcoming the public and providing information about facility amenities and programs.
• Maintain coverage at all posts in the park, including park entrances, parking lots, traffic circle, picnic areas, front desk, basketball games and other areas as needed.
• Patrol park grounds to protect property, encourage the respectful enjoyment of park facilities and ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
• Supporting Park programming including event staffing, escorting event vehicles and traffic control.
• Monitor lower-level parking passes, parking lots, and traffic circle to ensure proper traffic control through the park.
• Interacting with patrons to resolve questions, distributing information, and providing excellent customer service.
• Monitor the park’s safety conditions and follow emergency safety procedures and reporting when needed.
• Monitor pool and skating lines to ensure crowd and capacity control.
• Monitoring the facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment, which will include trash removal, upkeep of posts and other areas as needed.
• Responsible for regular inspections of parking lot checks, AED checklists, and proper preparation of required documentation and records.
• Seasonal staff may be asked to assist in other areas of the park as needed and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• New York State Security Guard Certification preferred.
• Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Applicants must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Applicants must be willing to support operational needs and special projects throughout the NYC Region as needed.
