Duties Description The Program Assistant for Adult Education Basics (AEB) is responsible for managing the program delivery of AEB courses for CSEA-represented NYS employees in agencies throughout the State. Program delivery includes the coordination of open enrollment courses and worksite training requests for in-person, online, and webinar training. Review of AEB curricula in Reading, Writing, Math, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and other program categories as needed.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Program Delivery:
• Coordinate open enrollment courses (Skills for Success program) in the category of AEB.

• Manage the delivery of AEB in-person training, as well as virtual classes using WebEx.

• Work with management and labor representatives to identify education and training program offerings based on workforce needs.

• Respond to and coordinate worksite training requests from management and labor representatives.

• Collaborate with Partnership staff to effectively market the AEB program through all regions of the State.

• Support instructional staff in delivery of course materials, including hosting webinars and online classes.

• Coordinate and monitor instructor course delivery.

• Provide support and excellent customer service to participants, including monitoring and reporting class attendance and making referrals to Educational Advisors.

• Collaborate with Educational Advisors to monitor participant progress.

• Attend the first and last day of each session -travel required throughout the State.

Curriculum Coordination
• Audit courses and provide feedback on performance of instructor and curriculum.

• Monitory course material inventory, including tracking textbooks, participant guides and handouts, and reordering supplies timely for deliveries.

• Assist in the identification and development of online learning certificate tracks and blended learning approaches to meet the needs of employees and agencies.

• Review Partnership curriculum to ensure it accomplishes the stated goals of the course and mission of the organization.

• Assist in the identification and development of blended learning approaches to meet the needs of employees and agencies.

• May assist with the development of curricula and training materials.

Training
• Host webinars and online trainings.

• Attend all in-person training courses, which are located throughout the State of New York.

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience.*

• Experience in training coordination of union represented employees.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

• Excellent oral communication, interpersonal skills, and advanced writing and editing skills.

• Experience using Webex or other online learning platforms preferred.

• Experience in a labor-management setting preferred.

• Experience with Adult Education and ESOL programs preferred.

• Experience administering EST Plus assessments preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows candidate to operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.

*Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or associate’s degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
