Duties Description The Division of Medicaid Investigations (DMI) ensures the integrity of the Medicaid program by conducting prepayment claims review, investigations, recovering over payments, and implementing administrative sanctions and can refer for criminal prosecution.

The Administrative Assistant 2 would function as a member of the Division of Medicaid Investigations, Bureau of Payment Controls and Monitoring Team to support the activities of the various specialized teams within the Bureau.

The Administrative Assistant 2 will work with the Medical, Dental and Transportation Prepayment Claims Review Teams, the Dental Audit Team and the Dental Investigations Team supporting the activities of the agency’s prepayment claims review and Dental Audits and Investigations. The Administrative Assistant/Trainee will be supporting and working with each team in the Bureau.

The duties of the position will include, but may not be limited to:
• Triaging calls and emails.
• Assisting with administrative tasks.
• Scanning supporting documentation into case files and upload to share document chart file.
• Assisting in the mail out of provider communications.
• Assist in preparation of regularly scheduled monthly reports.
• Maintain shared Bureau Calendar for telecommuting / time off and / in office days.
• Assisting with special projects as needed.
• Proofreading documents prior to mailing/emailing
• Review and advise staff when updates to FACTS / PACS cases are needed.
• Assist staff with record requests.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the current Civil Service eligible list for Administrative Assistant 2; OR

Current New York State Employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a qualifying title allocated SG-13 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil service Law.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have strong organizational, proofreading, verbal and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and demonstrate attention to detail.
