Duties Description The Training Unit Secretary will handle daily responsibilities including phone and email communications, mail processing, and facility scheduling. The role involves varied computer tasks and general administrative responsibilities such as scanning, filing, generating reports, and recurring data entry. Candidate will oversee lodging requests and room assignments, coordinate facility use requests and invoicing, and procure materials. Additional duties include supply management, equipment maintenance and organization, as well as coordinating other support services. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
All duties require representing the Department in a professional manner and keeping training unit staff apprised of accomplishments and emerging issues. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and will be expected to engage with law enforcement, civilian employees, and the public. They must be able to participate in various team tasks.
Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum education or experience requirements for
this title.
Preferred: Familiar with using a computer and Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.
Additional Comments Must undergo a background investigation prior to appointment. Candidate is required to pay fingerprint fee. Appointment will likely continue on after 3/31/2027.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 3/31/2027. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Per federal government requirements, if you are appointed to this position, you may be required to undergo fingerprinting and a state and federal criminal background check.
